About This CoffeeAntigua is famous for producing some of Guatemala's most iconic coffees, and Los Volcanes is an excellent example of why. Rich dark chocolate forms the foundation of the cup, while notes of ripe cherry add brightness before finishing with smooth caramel sweetness. The result is a clean, balanced coffee that offers just enough fruit to stay interesting without overpowering its classic chocolate profile. Whether brewed as a morning drip coffee or a carefully crafted pour over, Los Volcanes delivers the kind of dependable sweetness and balance that has made Antigua one of the world's most respected coffee origins.
About the Farm
Rather than representing a single estate, Los Volcanes is a regional coffee produced by a network of experienced farms and smallholder producers throughout Guatemala's renowned Antigua Valley, including the communities surrounding Ciudad Vieja. Since 1952, the Los Volcanes name has become synonymous with the consistency and quality that have made Antigua coffees favorites among specialty roasters worldwide.
The region sits between three volcanoes—Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango—whose repeated volcanic activity has created exceptionally fertile soils rich in minerals and organic matter. Combined with cool nights, warm sunny days, and elevations around 1,500 meters, these conditions slow the maturation of the coffee cherries, allowing sugars to develop gradually and producing coffees with remarkable sweetness, complexity, and clarity.
After harvest, the coffee is fully washed before being carefully dried on traditional patios. Strict milling and quality control ensure each export maintains the chocolate-forward profile and balanced sweetness that have become hallmarks of Antigua coffee.
